Gemstone Identification

The process begins with a consultation to understand your goals and determine the appropriate scope of work. Services, timing, and fees are confirmed before work begins.

The gemstone is visually examined under magnification to assess color, transparency, cutting style, and overall appearance.

Dimensions and, when possible, weight are recorded. Standard gemological instruments are used to evaluate optical properties and light behavior.

Inclusions, growth features, and internal characteristics are examined to support identification and, when possible, distinguish natural, treated, or laboratory-grown materials.

Observations are compared to established gemological reference data. An identification is made when supported by evidence, or additional laboratory testing is recommended if results are inconclusive.

Findings are documented and provided to the client in a clear written summary or report, delivered electronically unless otherwise arranged.
